DESCRIPTION:The Parliamentarians Association of British Columbia (“PABC”) hereby serves notice for the upcoming 2026 Annual General Meeting (“AGM”)\, taking place on April 18\, 2026 at 9:30 AM at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (Civic Plaza Campus\, 6th floor)\, 13485 Central Avenue\, Surrey\, BC\, or online via Microsoft Teams. To learn more about the Microsoft Teams Meeting Platform\, please review the user guide. \nElections for the PABC Board Executive (President\, Vice-President\, Secretary\, Treasurer) will be conducted at the AGM.  Those interested in running for a Board position are encouraged to contact the Nominating Committee by April 9\, via email at: nominations@parliamentariansbc.ca. \nFurther\, the Board will be presenting bylaw changes for the membership’s approval. He has 25 years of experience chairing meetings and serving as parliamentarian to a wide range of organizations. He is an in-house parliamentarian for Canada’s largest union based out of Vancouver.

DESCRIPTION:Session Details:\nEver sat in a meeting and wondered\, “Are we actually doing this right?” This lively and approachable session introduces Robert’s Rules of Order through the lens of small\, casual\, and mission-driven non-profit organizations. \nDesigned to be practical (and entertaining)\, this session focuses on the real-life situations that often arise in non-profits\, such as informal discussions\, overlapping roles\, passionate volunteers\, and “we’ve always done it this way” moments. You’ll learn the basics of running fair\, efficient\, and respectful meetings without turning them into rigid or overly formal affairs. \nParticipants will gain a clearer understanding of motions\, voting\, and decision-making\, along with tips on when to strictly follow the rules and when flexibility is appropriate.
